Collective Bargaining in the Shadow of the Law

11.05.2026

The Institute for Labour and Social Law at the University of Vienna, in cooperation with the University of Luxembourg, invites participants to the conference “Collective Bargaining in the Shadow of the Law.”

Exactly six months after the CJEU’s judgment in C-19/23, where the Court held that most parts of the Adequate Minimum Wage Directive 2022/2041 were in conformity with Article 153 TFEU, the conference with one keynote and two panels aims at shedding light on the structural legal prerequisites for collective bargaining in the Member States as well as on the Directive’s influence on collective bargaining in the Member States. Particular attention is paid on future measures, including at EU-level.

Date: 11 May 2026, 12.30 - 18.30 pm

Location: University Campus, Old Chapel (on-site only)
